Role Summary
The Digital Communications Executive will be responsible for enhancing and growing Leinster GAA’s digital presence, with a strong emphasis on video content and social media. This role will play a key part in modernising the organisation’s communications, increasing online engagement, and delivering dynamic, high-quality digital content that reflects the vibrancy of Gaelic Games in the province. Working closely with the Communications Officer, the executive will support day-to-day communication efforts while building the digital brand of Leinster GAA across all platforms.
Principle Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Digital Content Creation
- Lead the creation, editing, and publishing of high-quality graphic and video content for Leinster GAA’s digital platforms (e.g., match highlights, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, promotional videos).
- Work with county boards, clubs, and external agencies to source and capture relevant digital content throughout the year.
- Support the design and delivery of engaging visual content including programmes, graphics, infographics, and animations.
- Social Media Management
- Plan, manage, and schedule content across all social media platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
- Respond to followers and engage with audiences in a timely and brand-appropriate manner.
- Use social media to promote events, celebrate successes, share updates, and drive brand engagement.
- Monitor social trends and apply best practices to keep Leinster GAA’s digital presence current and impactful.
- Digital Strategy Support
- Work with the Communications Officer to implement the digital communications strategy and contribute creative ideas to support campaigns and organisational objectives.
- Analyse the performance of digital initiatives using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, platform insights) and recommend improvements.
- Support the planning and execution of digital campaigns around fixtures, events, education programmes, and commercial promotions.
- Media Support & Event Coverage
- Attend key matches and events to capture live content (video, photography, interviews).
- Collaborate with the Communications Officer on media launches, promotional events, and sponsor activations.
- Liaise with county PROs and external contributors to coordinate consistent messaging and visual storytelling.
- Brand Consistency
- Ensure all digital outputs align with Leinster GAA’s brand guidelines and values.
- Maintain a consistent tone, style, and visual identity across platforms.
Key Attributes and Competencies
- Proven experience in digital media, video production, or social media management, preferably in a sporting or cultural context.
- Skilled in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Photoshop).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to craft engaging stories for diverse audiences.
- Analytical mindset with experience in tracking and interpreting digital performance metrics.
- Understanding of the GAA’s structure, culture, and community ethos.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for event coverage as required.

Job Type: Initial 6 month contract
Salary: Commensurate with experience
